The idea
An English History Month. And a day to celebrate it.
We're asking the Government to mark England's 1,100th birthday on the 12th of July 2027, with a National Celebration the likes of which this country hasn't seen since the end of the Second World War. We also ask that our country's birthday be marked with a National Holiday and History Month, every year thereafter.
We would like it to be a time to learn, share stories, and enjoy our unique history. We want to understand where our country came from, how we got where we are today, and our impact on the World, warts and all.
Not a protest. Not a banner for any cause. A birthday.
A sense of scale

From the turn of the Millennium in the year 2000, to the 1100th birthday next year, is only 2.5% of England's story.
Why do we talk so little about the other 97.5% of our history!? We'd like to change that.

Eamont Bridge
The Kings of Britain acknowledge Æthelstan's rule. For the first time in history, one King represents the entire English population.

Magna Carta
Written down here first, the basis of modern freedom and democracy: even a King must answer to the law. It echoes in constitutions the world over to this day.

The saint arrives
The Order of the Garter is founded, and St George is made patron saint, personifying the foundations of Chivalry that had come to represent the English Knights.

The 12th of July
England turns 1,100. The year we are asking the Country to finally start marking it's own birth, and a month of history to remember everything since.

A table with no head
Arthur's table was round so no one Knight sat above another. An ideal of fairness held to be foundational to this day.
Ideas that changed the world
From Newton to the jet engine, the first computers, and the World Wide Web. Countless inventions were born here.
Everyone's invited
This is a celebration, not a cause.
Our celebration belongs to anyone and everyone who recognises England as a place worth celebrating, and anyone who simply loves or is interested in our history; every person, every family, every background, every faith, and everything and everyone inbetween. There's no side to be on, no debate to be had - there's only a story to share, and a round table big enough for all.
We call for recognition of all that England is, and has been.
